The 2023 KIA EV6 has 4 recalls, all centered on loss of drive power: axle shafts that can break under load and a charging control unit that can fail and leave the 12-volt battery without power, either of which can cause the vehicle to lose propulsion while driving.
Both drivetrain issues stem from the same core risk. A rear inner axle shaft can fracture and cut power to the wheels without warning. Separately, the integrated charging control unit can sustain internal damage and stop replenishing the 12-volt battery, which the vehicle relies on to keep its drive systems running. Prior repair attempts for the charging control unit did not fully resolve the issue, which is why it appears across multiple filings.
