The 2020 Land Rover Evoque has 6 recalls, the most serious involving the driver and passenger knee airbag covers, which can loosen over time, allowing the airbags to partially unfold and fail to inflate properly in a crash. A related structural issue involves a metal plate attached to the headliner that can detach when the side curtain airbags deploy, sending the plate into the cabin where it can strike a passenger. There is also a software error that can cause the airbag warning light to turn on when nothing is actually wrong, which means a real airbag fault could go unnoticed later. On the visibility side, a fuse in the engine junction box for the windshield washer system can fail if the washers are run in freezing or blocked conditions, leaving the driver without a working washer to clear the windshield.
