The 2017 Maserati Quattroporte has 7 recalls, the most serious including a seat wiring harness that can short and cause a fire, and a rear differential pinion nut that can loosen and lock up the rear wheels.
A third high-priority issue affects V6 models: an engine software fault can cause the transmission to shift unexpectedly into neutral or park, or cut the engine entirely, without warning at low speeds. On the tire side, certain Pirelli P Zero All Season tires in size 275/40R19 may develop cracks in the lower sidewall, lose air pressure, and fail. In cold weather, the infotainment and telematics module can shut itself down in temperatures below freezing, taking the backup camera offline and reducing rear visibility while reversing. Recalls 5 and 6 describe this same cold-weather camera issue. On V8 GTS models, a resistor in the low-pressure fuel pump can fail and cause the engine to lose power or stall.
