The 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG E63S has 3 recalls, the most serious involving a starter motor cable that can chafe surrounding wiring, cause a short circuit, and potentially stall the engine or start a fire.
The remaining two recalls both affect passenger safety in a crash. On certain vehicles, the left rear seatback latch may not hold under load if cargo strikes it from behind, allowing the seatback to fold forward and increase injury risk to rear occupants. The front passenger seat also has a recall: a limiter may allow the seat to travel too far forward, placing the occupant too close to the airbag and raising the risk of injury if the airbag deploys.
