The 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE43 has 7 recalls, the most serious involving Continental tires that can develop a sidewall crack and lose air suddenly, or shed their tread at speed.
Water pooling in the spare tire well can damage the fuel pump control module and cause the engine to stall while driving. On the structural side, a front roof panel located between the windshield and panoramic sunroof can detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard; a prior repair attempt did not fully resolve this issue for all affected vehicles, which is why two separate recalls address it. The panoramic sunroof glass itself can also detach if the bonding primer used during assembly does not hold long-term. On the braking side, certain brake system components can reduce stopping performance. The automatic crash notification system, which contacts emergency services after a collision, can transmit incorrect location data and send responders to the wrong place.
