The 2017 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT has 6 recalls, the most serious being a carbon-fiber driveshaft that can separate from the drivetrain while the vehicle is moving, causing sudden loss of drive power.
Vehicles equipped with AMG Performance Seats have a passenger seat occupant classification system that may misread who is in the seat, causing the front passenger airbag to either deploy when it should not or stay inactive when it should fire in a crash. On the communications side, a software fault in the emergency call system can cause it to report an incorrect vehicle location to emergency responders after a crash, or in some cases fail to connect at all, delaying assistance.
