The 2019 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT has 4 recalls, the most serious affecting 4Matic all-wheel-drive models, where a misrouted transmission wiring harness can let water reach an electrical connector, short circuit, and start a fire even with the car parked and off.
Two recalls cover the automatic emergency call system, which contacts a response center after a crash. In one case the system can fail to connect at all, and in the other it may send emergency responders to the wrong location. Both failures delay help after an accident. There is also a concern with the wheel center caps, which can detach at speed and strike pedestrians or other vehicles nearby.
