The 2015 Mercedes-Benz AMG S63 has 3 recalls, the most serious being a roof panel that can detach from the vehicle while driving and become a hazard for other traffic.
The front panel between the windshield and panoramic sunroof can lose its adhesive bond and separate from the car. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve this issue for some vehicles, and a second recall addresses cases where the panel was not correctly rebonded during that earlier work. In either case, the result is the same: a panel coming free at speed and creating a serious road hazard. On the safety equipment side, the front seatbelts on certain AMG S63 4Matic Coupe models may have been installed with the left and right belts swapped. With the belts in the wrong positions, the locking angle is off, and the belt may not hold an occupant properly in a crash.
