The 2016 Mercedes-Benz AMG S63 has 4 recalls, the most serious involving the front roof panel, which can detach from the vehicle and become a hazard for other drivers on the road.
The roof panel concern covers two related situations: the original adhesive bonding can deteriorate and allow the panel to separate, and a prior repair attempt to address that bonding may not have fully resolved the issue, leaving some vehicles still at risk. On the occupant safety side, the seatbelt extenders may fail to retract properly or can break in a crash, which prevents the belt from holding the occupant correctly. There is also a headlight concern: the low-beam headlights on certain vehicles may not be aimed correctly from the factory, reducing the driver's ability to see the road ahead at night.
