The 2015 Mercedes-Benz GL350 has 3 recalls, the most serious being a fire risk from leaking oil in the front suspension and a separate axle bolt issue that can make the vehicle unstable and difficult to control.
On the suspension side, oil can leak in the presence of an ignition source and raise the risk of a fire. The axle recall affects certain vehicles built during a specific production window: bolts on the front and/or rear drive axle carriers may not have been assembled correctly, and if those bolts fracture, the vehicle can lose handling capability and become a crash risk. There is also a software fault in the emergency call system where the date and time can fall out of sync, causing the system to relay an inaccurate location to emergency responders if the vehicle is in a crash.
