The 2008 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the driver's frontal airbag inflator, which can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin during deployment.
Two other recalls affect occupant protection in a crash. Vehicles equipped with Freedman GO-3S foldaway seats may have a rear seat cushion that fails to lock into the upright position, allowing it to move under load and raising the risk of injury to the occupant seated there. There is also a structural concern: certain vehicles may have incorrect interior trim on the A-pillars, meaning the padding would not absorb impact energy properly if an occupant's head strikes that area in a collision.
