The 2023 Mercedes-Benz Tourrider Premium has 4 recalls, the most serious involving a wheelchair lift whose outer barrier can deploy without warning, potentially failing to retain the wheelchair and putting lift occupants at risk of falling.
The driver's seat also has a concern: a bracket that locks the seat backrest in place may not have been installed, allowing the backrest to fold forward in a crash and expose the driver to greater injury. On the passenger side, 120-volt outlets throughout the cabin may not be properly secured and can detach from their mounting points, creating a shock hazard for anyone who contacts the exposed fitting. There is also a structural safety issue: the roof hatch handle can break, which could slow or prevent occupants from escaping through the emergency roof exit when time is critical.
