The rollaway risk occurs because the transmission's gear position may not properly register or hold, leaving the car free to move after the driver steps out. The electrical short, while separate in nature, raises the risk of fire without warning. There is also a headlight recall affecting a broad range of Porsche models across many years: the headlights on certain vehicles may be aimed incorrectly, either leaving too much of the road ahead in the dark or throwing glare into the eyes of oncoming drivers, both of which can contribute to a crash.
