Both fire-related issues carry the same level of concern, and either could lead to a vehicle fire without obvious warning. A third recall involves the transmission gear position indicator, where the system may fail to alert the driver that the car is not fully in Park, allowing the vehicle to roll away after the driver exits without setting the parking brake. On the mechanical side, the camshaft controllers inside the engine can work loose, which disrupts valve timing and can cause the engine to stall unexpectedly while driving, leaving the vehicle without power in traffic. Rounding out the list, the headlights on certain vehicles may not be correctly aimed, either failing to light the road far enough ahead or throwing glare into oncoming drivers, both of which reduce reaction time in low-light conditions.
