The 2013 Porsche Panamera has 3 recalls, the most serious being a tie between an electrical short that can cause a fire and a transmission issue where the car can roll away unexpectedly if exited without the parking brake applied.
The rollaway risk occurs when the transmission is not placed in Park before the driver exits: the vehicle can move on its own and strike a person or object nearby. On the electrical side, a short circuit in the vehicle's wiring raises the risk of fire. The third recall involves headlight aim: the headlights on certain vehicles may be angled incorrectly, either failing to light the road far enough ahead or throwing glare into the eyes of oncoming drivers, both of which reduce visibility and raise crash risk.
