The 2022 Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo has 5 recalls, the most serious being a high-voltage battery defect where an internal short circuit in the battery modules can lead to a fire.
A separate but related fire risk involves the compact charging system: when charging at the 100% setting using a standard 220V/240V household outlet, the outlet or charging cable can overheat if the home circuit cannot handle the required current, also raising the risk of fire. There is also a safety equipment concern: when a passenger is not wearing a seatbelt, the warning light and audible chime may fail to activate, leaving the passenger unalerted to buckle up before a crash.
