The 2023 Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo has 4 recalls, all centered on fire risk: three involve the high-voltage battery and one involves the onboard charging cable.
The battery recalls cover two related failure modes. In one, insufficient sealant in the battery housing allows liquid to get in and cause electrical arcing. In the others, internal short circuits can develop within the battery modules themselves. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue, which is why multiple separate campaigns address these battery conditions. All three failures raise the risk of fire. The fourth recall involves the compact home charging cable: when plugging into a standard 220V/240V household outlet at the 100% charge setting, some home outlets cannot handle the current drawn, causing the outlet or the cable itself to overheat and potentially catch fire.
