The 2021 Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo has 4 recalls, the most serious being a high-voltage battery defect where an internal short circuit within the battery modules can lead to a fire.
A separate but related charging concern involves the compact home charging cable when used with a standard 220V/240V household outlet at the 100% charge setting. Some home outlets cannot handle the current the charging system draws at that setting, causing the outlet or the charging cable itself to overheat, which also raises the risk of fire. On the safety systems side, the instrument cluster fails to trigger the seatbelt warning light or audible chime when a passenger is riding unbelted, meaning that passenger receives no prompt to buckle up and faces a higher risk of injury in a crash.
