The 2022 Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo has 5 recalls, the most serious being a high-voltage battery defect that can cause an internal short circuit and raise the risk of a vehicle fire.
The battery fire risk is the subject of multiple recalls covering overlapping model year ranges, but the underlying danger is the same: the high-voltage battery pack can short circuit internally, creating a fire hazard whether the vehicle is in use or parked. There is also a separate charging-related fire concern: when using a 220V/240V household outlet at the 100% charge setting, some home outlets cannot handle the current the compact charging cable draws, causing the outlet or the cable itself to overheat and potentially catch fire. On the safety equipment side, the seatbelt warning system can fail to activate when a passenger is unbuckled, meaning neither the warning light nor the audible chime alerts the occupant to fasten their belt, which raises the risk of injury in a crash.
