The 2022 Porsche Taycan 4S has 5 recalls, the most serious being a high-voltage battery defect where a short circuit inside the battery modules can cause a fire.
A separate but related fire risk involves the compact charging system: when plugged into a standard 220V/240V home outlet at the 100% charge setting, the outlet or charging cable can overheat if the circuit cannot handle the current draw, also raising the risk of fire. There is also a seatbelt warning system fault where an unbelted front passenger will not trigger the warning light or audible chime, leaving that occupant without a reminder to buckle up before a crash.
