The 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S has 4 recalls, the most serious being two separate high-voltage battery defects where an internal short circuit can lead to a fire.
The charging system also carries a fire risk: when using a standard 220V/240V household outlet at the 100% charge setting, some home outlets cannot handle the current drawn by the compact charging cable, causing the outlet or cable to overheat. The remaining recall involves the instrument cluster: when a passenger is unbelted, the seatbelt warning light and chime fail to activate, leaving the occupant without a reminder to buckle up before a crash.
