The 2012 Triumph Speed Triple has 4 recalls, the most serious involving transmission faults that can cause the neutral indicator light to stay on while a gear is actually selected, leading a rider to release the clutch and have the bike surge forward unexpectedly. A related transmission issue can cause the gearbox to drop out of gear while riding, cutting power to the rear wheel without warning. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the neutral indicator problem, which is why it appears across multiple recalls. On the exterior, the stems that hold the front and rear turn signals in place can fracture and break off, making the signals invisible to other drivers on the road.
