2022 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas has 3 recalls, the most serious being loose rear trailing arm bolts that can fall out and cause the trailing arm to fracture, resulting in a sudden loss of vehicle control. The trailing arm issue affects certain Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport trims, and prior tightening was not sufficient to prevent the bolts from working loose over time. Separately, a wiring fault in the front passenger seat sensor system can cause it to incorrectly read the seat as unoccupied and deactivate the front passenger airbag, leaving that occupant without airbag protection in a crash.
