TRANSIT COACHES WITH MANUAL STEERING. THE FRONT AXLE MOUNTED STEERING BOX ASSEMBLIES ON THESE VEHICLES CONTAIN BALL NUT ASSEMBLIES WHICH MAY HAVE CRACKS. IF A BALL NUT WERE TO BREAK WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, STEERING CONTROL COULD BE LOST AND A VEHICLE CRASH COULD OCCUR WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
THE CLUTCH CABLE MAY RUB AGAINST THE MASTER CYLINDER BRAKE PIPE AND OVER AN EXTENDED PERIOD THE BRAKE PIPE COULD FAIL, RESULTING IN LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID AND CONSEQUENT PARTIAL LOSS OF BRAKING ACTION. SHOULD A PARTIAL LOSS OF BRAKING ACTION OCCUR WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION WHEN MINIMUM STOPPING DISTANCES ARE REQUIRED, A VEHICLE CRASH COULD OCCUR WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
VEHICLES WITH DELCO-BOSE SOUND SYSTEMS AND WINDSHIELD WIPER LOW SPEED DELAY PULSE WIPE FEATURES HAVE A NOISE SUPPRESSION CAPACITATOR IN THE MOTOR DELAY REALY WHICH MAY OVERHEAT DURING OPERATION OF THE DELAY FEATURE. THIS COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF WINDSHIELD WIPER OPERATION AND UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS COULD CAUSE AN UNDERHOOD FIRE WHICH COULD SPREAD TO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT.
HOOD HINGE LINK ASSEMBLIES MAY BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO DISENGAGEMENT OF THE HOOD ASSIST SPRING. IF THE SPRING WERE TO DISENGAGE, THE REMAINING HOOD HGINGE ASSEMBLY WOULD NOT BE SUFFICIENT TO MAINTAIN THE HOOD IN AN OPEN POSITION AND IT WOULD FALL UNDER ITS OWN WEIGHT, THEREBY EXPOSING INDIVIDUALS IN THE VICINITY OF THE OPEN HOOD TO POSSIBLE INJURIES.
REVISED-DESIGN LOCK WEDGES ON REAR AXLE ASSEMBLIES MAY DISENGAGE FROM THE AXLE RETAINING NUT. IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR ON THE LEFT AXLE AND THE WEDGE BECAME JAMMED BETWEEN THE RETAINING NUT AND THE HUB, THE REATINING NUT COULD LOOSEN AND BACK OFF COMPLETELY, CREATING THE POSSIBILITY OF THE LEFT REAR AXLE, WHEEL AND BRAKE DRUM PARTIALLY OR COMPLETELY SEPARATING FROM THE REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY. PARTIAL SEPARATION WOULD RESULT IN LOSS OF REAR BRAKING CAPABILITY AND COMPLETE SEPARATION WOULD ADVERSELY AFFECT VEHICLE CONTROL.
THE FUEL SYSTEM IN THESE VEHICLES MAY LEAK AT THE THROTTLE BODY INJECTION FUEL FEED PIPE CONNECTION. UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS THIS COULD RESULT IN AN UNDERHOOD FIRE WHICH COULD IN TIME SPREAD TO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND CAUSE BURN INJURIES TO OCCUPANTS.
VEHICLES WITH NON-TILT STEERING COLUMNS. VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN PRODUCED WITH AN INCORRECT INSULATOR INSTALLED IN THE STEERING COLUMN SHIFT CANE LEVER. THE INSULATOR IS USED TO CONNECT THE TRTANSMISSIONS SHIFT LINKAGE TO THE SHIFT LEVER. IF THE SHIFT LINKAGE WERE TO DISENGAGE FROM THE SHIFT LEVER, THE OPERATOR COULD NOT SELECT TRANSMISSION FUNCTIONS. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD THEN REMAIN ENGAGED IN THE LAST GEAR SELECTED BEFORE SEPARATION EVEN THOUGH THE GEAR SELECTOR HAD BEEN MOVED TO A POSITION ASSOCIATED WITH ANOTHER FUNCTION.
HATCHBACKS ONLY. TAIL AND BRAKE LAMP METAL SOCKET BARRELS MIGHT HAVE BEEN INSUFFICIENTLY PRESSED INTO THEIR PLASTIC OUTER SHELLS. THIS COULD LEAD TO A POOR OR OPEN GROUND CIRCUIT AND RESULT IN INOPERATIVE TAIL AND BRAKE LAMPS.

HYDRAULIC BRAKE TUBE ROUTING TO THE REAR WHEELS MAY ALLOOW INTERFERENCE BETWEEN THE TUBE AND THE REAR PARK BRAKE CABLE. RESULTING ABRASION COULD CAUSE TUBE FAILURE AND PARTIAL LOSS OF BRAKING CAPABILITY. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHT WILL PROVIDE WARNING OF THE PARTIAL LOSS.
VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH TURBOCHARGED V6 ENGINES. UNDER CERTAIN OPERATING CONDITIONS FUEL INLET PIPE VIBRATION MAY CAUSE CRACKS IN THE PIPE AT THE FLARED END AT THE CARBURETOR. THESE CRACKS CAN ALLOW A FUEL LEAK CREATING THE POSSIBILITY OF FIRE.
THE UNIVESAL JOINT CONNECTING THE STEERING SHAFT TO THE STEERING RACK MAY BE IMPROPERLY POSITIONED. IF THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN ON ROUGH ROADS FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME THE CONNECTION COULD LOOSEN AN CAUSE EXCESSIVE STEERING WHEEL FREE PLAY.
THE FRONT BRAKE HOSES MAY HAVE BEEN INCORRECTLY ROUTED DURING PRODUCTION.IF THIS OCCURRED,THE BRAKE HOSE COULD RUB AGAINST THE RIM AT CERTAIN ROAD WHEEL POSTIONS AND EVENTUALLY WEAR THROUGH
THE FRONT OUTBOARD SEAT BELTS MANUFACTURED BY FUJI KIKO CO. LTD. MAY BECOME STUCK IN THE RETRACTOR DUE TO THE DISENGAGEMENT OF THE PLASTIC DAMPER OF THE EMERGENCY LOCKING RETRACTOR MECHANISM. THIS WOULD RESULT IN FRONT SEAT PASSENGERS BEING UNABLE TO FASTEN THEIR SEAT BELTS.
STEERING SHAFT ASSEMBLY YOKES MAY BE OF AN INCORRECT FORGING STEEL WHICH COULD RESULT IN BRITTLE WELDS BETWEEN THE YOKE AND ITS SHAFT. FAILURE OF THE YOKE COULD LEAD TO LOSS OF STEERING.
