On certain trucks, the propeller shaft may not have received adequate heat treatment during the manufacturing process. As a result, the shaft may break and fall off while the vehicle is being driven. Separation of the driveshaft would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash. In addition, once separated from the vehicle the driveshaft could cause vehicle damage or damage to other vehicles and property, and could potentially result in personal injury or death to bystanders.
On certain vehicles, if the retention clip used to secure the center console trim panel was not reinstalled following a service repair, the trim piece could interfere with the operation of the accelerator pedal. If this occurs, the accelerator pedal may become stuck at nearly full throttle, which could result in a loss of vehicle control causing property damage, personal injury or death. Note: As this problem result from a servicing issue, it is being handled as a safety improvement campaign instead of a Notice of Defect as prescribed by the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the center console trim panel with an updated version which will minimize the risk of interference with the accelerator pedal in the event the retention clip is missing for any reason.

On certain vehicles, the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) G-sensor may have been incorrectly installed during vehicle assembly. This could affect vehicle handling characteristics during hard braking, sudden turns or other quick manoeuvres, causing the vehicle to react in an unexpected manner or result in unstable handling. Consequently, the driver could lose control of the vehicle and a crash could occur, causing property damage, personal injury or death.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, reinstall the VDC G-sensor.
On certain vehicles, the gearshift cable may become disengaged from the steering column mounting bracket and cause an incorrect transmission gearshift position display. This could allow the vehicle to move inadvertently, resulting in a crash causing property damages and personal injuries.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install a redundant locking mechanism to ensure proper retention and shift linkage function.
On certain motorcycles, the windscreen is mounted with a rubber-mounted nut which may become dislodged and hit / distract the rider while riding. This situation could result in a crash causing personal injuries or death.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the two rubber-mounted nuts with new fastener assemblies..
On certain motorcycles, the rear cylinder cam chain tension guide may experience premature failure. This can cause plastic debris which can block the oil pump screen, leading to possible oil starvation and engine seizure. An engine seizure may cause the rear wheel to lock-up which could lead to a crash causing personal injuries or death.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the rear cam chain tensioner with an updated tensioner.
On certain vehicles, the bracket that covers the fuel hose connector is normally secured with a nut and bolt, however during assembly the nut was omitted. In the event of a crash, the bracket may become loose which could result in damage to the fuel hose connector. A damaged connector could lead to a fuel leak and increases the risk of fire causing property damages and personal injuries.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect affected vehicles and install a nut on the fuel feed hose bracket.
On certain motorcycles, the position of the hose clamps on the fuel filler drain hose & fuel breather hose is incorrect and, as a result, the two hoses may get damaged. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the fuel filler drain and fuel breather hoses, and reposition the hose clamps.
On certain vehicles, the bracket that is the anchor point for the left rear fuel tank mounting strap may have been improperly formed during the manufacturing process. This may have caused the metal to spilt in the area where the bolt holds the fuel strap to the underside of the vehicle. In the event the tank is full of fuel and the vehicle is involved in a serious collision the bracket could break and the tank could drop down. This situation could result in a fuel leak and the possibility of a fire.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and if necessary install a reinforcement cap to the fuel tank bracket.
On certain vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, the park brake lever clutch drum may distort and reduce the effectiveness of the park brake system. This could allow the vehicle to move inadvertently and cause a crash without any warning.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the park brake lever assembly.
On certain vehicles, a broken solder joint on the printed circuit board of the Power Control Module (PCM) can affect the fuel pump relay performance and potentially result in an engine stall while driving and/or a no start of the engine. Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash.
On certain vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, the transmission shift lever can be moved from the PARK position with the ignition ON and without the operator depressing the brake pedal or in some cases with the ignition turned to OFF. This situation has the potential for the vehicle to roll/move if the shifter is hit accidentally which could result in a crash causing property damages or personal injuries.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the pawl stopper and a bushing within the shifter assembly.
On certain vehicles, a varistor in the Occupant Classification System (OCS) control unit located in the passenger seat cushion may have been manufactured incorrectly. Under certain conditions, this could cause an interruption of signal between the OCS and the Airbag control unit (ACU). This could result in the passenger airbag being suppressed. The (red) supplemental airbag warning light would flash & the (amber) front passenger airbag status light would illuminate to alert the vehicle operator, however in case of a crash a suppressed airbag could result in personal injury or death.
