On certain vehicles, the brake-shift interlock may not function properly at low temperatures. This could allow the transmission gear shift lever to be moved out of the PARK position without depressing the brake pedal. Depending which gear the driver selects, the vehicle could begin to move forward or backward immediately. This movement could result in property damage, or cause the vehicle to strike a bystander, potentially resulting in personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the gear shift assembly stopper.
On certain vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission and a floor-mounted shifter, the ignition-park interlock may become defeated and allow the shifter to be moved out of the Park position with the key removed. An inoperative interlock may also allow the key to be removed when the shifter has not been placed in the Park position. This may result in the vehicle rolling away without warning.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealer will inspect the function of the ignition-park interlock system. Vehicles found with functional interlock systems will have a load-limiting push rod installed into the floor shifter lever. Vehicles with a non-functional ignition-park interlock system will have the shifter assembly replaced.

Certain passenger vehicles equipped with front coil springs. The front coil springs were produced with poor paint quality which, after continued exposure to corrosive salt, can result in breakage of the spring. Depending on the location of the fracture, a broken spring could move past the spring seat and contact a front tire. Some tires have deflated due to contact with a broken spring.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will notify customers to bring their vehicle to an authorize dealership to have a spring guard installed on both front struts to prevent tire puncture and replace any broken springs free of charge.

On certain vehicles, the accelerator pedal might not have been fully fastened to its mounting studs during vehicle assembly. Due to the geometry and tension in the assembly, the mounting studs will maintain the position of the accelerator pedal but may, over time, not maintain a consistent pedal position, which could make it more difficult to operate the accelerator.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the pedal assembly and, if required, install two nuts.
On certain vehicles, an issue in the software used by the Electronic Control Unit responsible for managing the Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) feature may cause it to not operate as intended alerting the driver to brake unnecessarily in certain situations. If the driver attempts to brake while FCM is also activating, the vehicle may decelerate rapidly. This could create a situation where another motorist does not anticipate a preceding vehicle’s sudden brake application or stop, creating the risk of a rear-end collision causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will update the software for the Forward Collision Mitigation system.

Certain ACDelco Advantage wheel hub spindles, manufactured by Bearing Technologies Ltd., contain a defect which may affect vehicle safety. The spindles have studs with oversized protruding shoulders that may make assembling the part difficult with certain aftermarket brake rotors (original equipment rotors are not affected). If this difficulty in assembly is not heeded, the defect may cause a vibration of the vehicle or wobbling of the wheel on which the hub is installed. If a driver does not stop the vehicle, this may lead to a loss of vehicle control.
Affected parts are ACDelco Advantage wheel hub spindles, Part No. 19360602 (BR930676K), sold between November 21, 2016 and October 2, 2017. Parts manufactured with these studs have any of the following LOT codes etched on the face of the spindle: FH38, FJ38, FN38, FP38, FS38, FV38, FY38, FZ38, and HC38. These parts fit exclusively on the models listed in this notice.
Safety Risk

Remedy
Bearing Tech will provide customers with a replacement ACDelco Advantage wheel spindle, Part No. 19385577 (518517). Owners should contact Bearing Tech at 800-677-3477 or send an email to recall@brgtec.com
On certain vehicles, if the forward retention clip used to secure the floor carpet cover, which is located in front of the center console, is not installed properly, the cover may lean toward the accelerator pedal and interfere with the operation of the accelerator pedal arm. If this occurs, the accelerator pedal could temporarily become stuck in a partially depressed position, rather than return to the idle position. This could result in a loss of throttle control and a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the floor carpet cover with a newly designed version.

Certain vehicles equipped with Active Body Control (ABC) the sensors on the front struts may not operate within tolerances. As such, the sensor signal may not be accurately transmitted to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU). A variation in the transmitted values can result in one front strut adjusting to a value while the other does not adjust and presenting the driver with an uneven front suspension. This situation could have an effect on the vehicle's directional stability, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash with injuries or death.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace affected AZ-sensors
On certain Crosstrek plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), the tire and loading information label does not list that there is no spare tire in both official languages. The label reads as "NONE" when it should read as "NONE / AUCUN". Canadian regulations require the information to be listed on the label in both English and French.
Safety Risk
This error does not affect vehicle safety.
Remedy
This is not a recall. Subaru has corrected the tire and loading information label for all new vehicles.

THE SHIFT LOCK CONTROL UNIT MAY NOT SEND A LOCK SIGNAL TO THE KEY INTERLOCK MECHANISM SOLENOID. THIS WOULD MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY AFTER TURNING THE ENGINE OFF AND NOT PLACING THE SHIFT LEVER IN THE "PARK" POSITION. IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR AND THE DRIVER FAILED TO MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER TO THE "PARK" POSITION OR TO ENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE BEFORE EXITING THE VEHICLE WHILE PARKED ON A SLOPE, THE VEHICLE COULD ROLL AWAY.
