Certain F250/350 King Ranch and Lariat 4x4 single rear wheel vehicles equipped with Goodyear Wrangler AT/S LT275/65R18 tires fail to conform to the requirements of CMVSS 120. One or more of the tires installed may have an incorrect load range rating for the vehicle, which can result in a tire being overloaded. If a tire is operated in an over-loaded or over-inflated condition, the tire may rupture without warning resulting in a rapid air loss, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealer will replace the load range "C" tires with load range "E" tires.

WHEELS WITH MISFORMED LUG NUT SEATS WERE INSTALLED ON THESE VEHICLES. THIS CAUSES REDUCED NUT TO WHEEL CONTACT AREA AND LIMITS THE WHEEL SELF-CENTERING CAPABILITY DURING INSTALLATION. THIS RESULTS IN LOSS OF WHEEL LUG NUT TORQUE RETENTION.
Safety Risk
LOSS OF LUG NUT TORQUE RETENTION MAY LEAD TO WHEEL LUGFAILURE WHICH MAY CAUSE WHEEL SEPARATION AND AN ACCIDENT.
Remedy
INSPECT THE WHEEL ASSEMBLY PLANT CODE; REPLACE WHEELS KNOWN TO HAVE THE PROBLEM AND INSTALL NEW LUG NUTS.

On certain pickup and chassis-cab trucks, the owner's manual and service manual list the wrong torque specification for the wheel nuts. As a result, some trucks may have had the lug nuts over-tightened during servicing. This can damage the wheel studs and, over time, they could break. If this happens, a wheel could separate from the truck.
Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with dual rear wheels and flanged lug nuts.
Safety Risk
A wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle.
Remedy
FCA Canada will contact owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect and replace the wheel studs, as necessary. They will also provide an update for the torque specification listed in the owner's manual.

On certain trucks, the front wheel hub extenders may not be properly tightened. As a result, the nuts could loosen and a wheel could separate from the vehicle.
Note: For F-350 models, this recall only affects trucks equipped with dual rear wheels and four-wheel drive.
Safety Risk
A wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle.
Remedy
Ford will contact owners and instruct you not to drive your truck. They will provide you with instructions for how to check if the front wheel hub extender nuts are properly tightened. Ford will also give you the option to contact a dealer and arrange to either have the vehicle inspected at your location or have it towed to the dealership. The dealer will ensure that the wheel hub extender nuts are properly tightened.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE WHEEL BOLT INSERTS FITTED IN THE MAGNESIUM WHEEL CAN SHOW SIGNS OF CRACKING.
Safety Risk
IF THE WHEEL BOLT INSERTS BEGIN TO CRACK, A REDUCTION OF THE TORQUE APPLIED TO THE WHEEL WOULD RESULT. VEHICLE HANDLING COULD BE AFFECTED, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE ALL FOUR MAGNESIUM WHEELS WITH WHEELS MADE OF ALUMINUM, WHICH ARE NOT FITTED WITH INSERTS. ALL THE WHEEL BOLTS WILL ALSO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE ALUMINUM WHEELS REQUIRE A DIFFERENT TYPE OF BOLT. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN OCTOBER 1, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT FERRARI AT 1-201-816-2651.
On certain vehicles, wheels were not pre-stressed and could, over time, develop cracks. If allowed to propagate, the cracks may result in wheel failure, which could cause a vehicle crash without warning, possibly resulting in property damage, personal injury or death.
Safety Risk

On certain vehicle equipped with 16 inch tires and operated in hot ambient conditions, the rubber and metal portions of the valve stem may experience separation or cracking. This condition may lead to loss of air pressure at the valve stem and subsequent rapid loss of pressure in the tire that could result in a loss of vehicle directional control with minimal advance warning.
Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of CMVSS 120 - Tire rim designation. These vehicles have an incomplete tire rim designation indicated on the compliance label. If a customer replaces a wheel with one that has a rim contour that is inappropriate for use with the tires on the vehicle, the mounting of the tire to the wheel and/or the tire/wheel assembly may not perform as designed/intended. In addition, certain vehicles are also missing the tire load rating on the label. If a tire of a lesser load rating than the original tire is installed, the tire may not be able to sustain the loads encountered during use.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install a new partial label over the existing label. Corrected labels and application instructions will be mailed to customers. Dealers will receive labels for installation on the vehicles in inventory.

On certain XE models, the size of the spare tire wheel rim is incorrect. The wheel rim does not fit properly on the front hubs and will contact the brake caliper. Continued usage of the spare tire wheel on a front hub can also result in loosening of the lug nuts and an increase in brake fluid temperature. This may eventually cause the wheel to separate from the vehicle and/or deterioration in braking performance.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the wheel rim and re-install the spare tire.

CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES MAY HAVE A MANUFACTURING FLAW THAT COULD CAUSE THE WHEELS TO CRACK UNDER LONG TERM DRIVING FATIGUE. IF CRACKS OCCUR, WHEEL NOISE AND VIBRATION WILL RESULT AND BECOME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER TIME.
Safety Risk
IF THE CRACK IS SEVERE, THE WHEEL COULD SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE AND POSSIBLY RESULT IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND A CRASH.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE ALL FOUR WHEELS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 22, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KIA AT 1-800-333-4542.
