On certain motorcycles, the electrical power supply cable to the starter motor may come into direct contact with the oil cooler return pipe. In time, this may cause the insulation on the starter to degrade. Should the starter motor cable insulation become worn, a 12-volt electrical short would occur, increasing the risk of a fire.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will re-position the cable.

On certain vehicles equipped with an IOTA 50 amp transfer switch which is used to switch power between on-vehicle generator and shoreline power. Under certain heavy duty cycles, the lugs on the buss bar may loosen. Under high electrical loads, loose electrical connections could cause the circuit to overheat, which would increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property.
On certain vehicles equipped with a light emitting diode (LED) stop lamp, there is a possibility that silicon oxide may be generated on the surface of the contact point inside the stop lamp switch. Consequently, current may not flow at the contact, causing the stop lamp to become inoperative. The loss of stop lamps would result in failure to warn following drivers that the vehicle is braking and/or is stopped, which could lead to a vehicle crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the stop lamp switch.

On certain vehicles, the cover for the positive battery terminal could be damaged in a rear crash. This can cause the car to lose electrical power. If this happens, it may not be possible to open the doors from the outside and/or the hazard lights may not work.
Safety Risk
Doors that cannot be opened from the outside could increase the risk of injury after a crash. Hazard lights that do not work could make the vehicle less visible and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the plus (positive) terminal cover.

BATTERY TO STARTER CABLES ARE LONGER THAN SPECIFIED; EXCESSIVE CABLE LENGTH COULD CONTACT ENGINE DAMPER PULLEY.
Safety Risk
CABLE PROTECTIVE COVERING AND INSULATION COULD WEAR THROUGH AND CAUSE A DIRECT SHORT TO GROUND, RESULTING IN OVERHEATING OF THE CABLE INSULATION AND POSSIBLY A UNDERHOOD FIRE.
Remedy
REPLACE BATTERY TO STARTER CABLE WITH CORRECT LENGTH CABLE.
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV and 2022 Bolt EUV vehicles previously repaired under Recall 21V-650. On certain motorcycles, the main wiring harness may contact the vertical cylinder head and become damaged. This could result in a loss of vehicle lighting and/or degradation of engine performance. Failure of the lighting system may result in the following road users being unaware of the rider's intentions, as well as reducing vehicle conspicuity during hours of darkness. This could result in a vehicle crash causing personal injury or death.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will reposition the wiring harness.

On certain vehicles, the internal memory for the media control unit (MCU) could run out of storage capacity over time. If this happens, the center display can turn off while driving and cause some of the car's systems not to work properly. This includes the rearview camera display, defrost/defog control settings, and exterior turn signal lighting.
Safety Risk
A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. A windshield that cannot be defrosted/defogged could reduce visibility. Turn signals that do not work could cause a following driver not to recognize that a vehicle ahead intends to turn. These conditions could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Tesla advises owners to ensure that their vehicle software is up to date. Tesla will notify owners by email, including when parts are available to schedule service to upgrade the internal memory in the MCU.

On certain motorcycles, a circuit board within the voltage regulator/rectifier assembly may have been incorrectly soldered during manufacturing process. The improper soldering can cause an internal short which will illuminate the check engine light. If there is a loose battery connection along with the defective regulator, the Power-Train Control Module may inaccurately process the various engine control inputs. This could lead to an engine stall condition which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the rider's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the voltage regulator/rectifier assembly.

On certain vehicles, the positive battery cable connection to the fuse box could fail while the vehicle is being driven. This could interrupt the vehicle’s electrical system, resulting in engine stalling, loss of vehicle propulsion and a loss of function of various vehicle systems, such as lights. A loss of vehicle propulsion and electrical vehicle systems, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver’s reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the positive battery cable connector with an updated version.
On certain vehicles, a short could develop within the driver's power seat switch. This could cause the seat to move forward, rearward, up, down or to recline without driver input, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
Safety Risk

Remedy
Dealers will replace the switch.

On certain vehicles, there may be excessive weld spatter on the front passenger seat frame due to a manufacturing issue. Over time, the occupant classification sensor wire harness may chafe and wear against the weld splatter and cause an electrical short. This could result in a loss of power steering assist and/or a deactivation of the entire airbag system. A loss of power steering assist could unexpectedly increase steering effort, which could increase the risk of a crash, and failure of airbags to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will affix a protective pad to the seat frame to prevent the wire harness from chafing. If the harness has already been damaged, dealers will also apply insulating tape on the harness. If the harness has been damaged beyond repair, dealers will replace the bottom seat cushion containing the sensor, and the harness.
