The 2019 Acura TLX has 6 recalls, the most serious involving the front passenger airbag sensor, which can misread occupant weight and deploy the airbag incorrectly in a crash, raising the risk of injury.
On the engine side, two separate mechanical defects can cause a stall while driving. Teeth on the timing belt can break away, cutting power to the engine without warning. Separately, a connecting rod bearing inside the engine can wear down and seize, which may cause the engine to run roughly, stall, or in severe cases catch fire. Three recalls cover fuel pump failures that can also stall the engine: one involves particulates that clog pump components on V6-equipped models, and two others involve pump failures across a broad range of model years where the low-pressure pump inside the fuel tank stops working. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve all of the fuel pump issues, which is why multiple campaigns exist for similar underlying problems.
