2010 BMW 1 SERIES Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2010 BMW 1 Series has two recalls, the more serious being an engine component that can cause sudden power loss or stalling while driving, raising the risk of a crash. The engine recall involves bolts in the variable camshaft timing system that can loosen or break, throwing off camshaft timing and pushing the engine into reduced power mode or cutting it out entirely. The second recall concerns the front seatbelt pretensioners: in a severe crash where the pretensioners and load limiters fire, insulation around the pretensioner can ignite.
