2008 BMW 1 Series

The 2008 BMW 1 Series has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the front seatbelt pretensioner, which can ignite its own insulation during a crash severe enough to trigger the pretensioner and load-limiter.

Two electrical concerns make up the remaining recalls. Loose crimp connectors on the side airbag and belt tensioner wiring can result in poor contact, which may prevent the airbags or belt tensioners from functioning correctly in a crash. The cabin blower motor regulator connector can also corrode over time, causing the surrounding wiring to overheat and melt, with possible signs including a burning smell, a non-functioning blower, or smoke inside the car, and a risk of fire if left unaddressed.
