The 2010 BMW 325xi has 3 recalls, the most serious being a driver-side airbag inflator that can explode during deployment, sending sharp metal fragments into the cabin and potentially causing serious injury or death.
This airbag inflator risk applies to vehicles with the original steering wheel as well as those where the original wheel was replaced with a sport or M-sport steering wheel, as both configurations may carry the defective inflator. There is also a wiring concern: the electrical connectors that control airflow for the heating and air conditioning system can overheat and melt, raising the risk of a fire even when the vehicle is parked and unattended.
