The 2024 BMW 430i has two recalls, both carrying fire risk: one from a starter assembly defect and one from a cracked cylinder head cover that can leak oil onto hot engine components.
The starter assembly issue is shared across a wide range of BMW models and years. When the starter fails, it can generate enough heat to ignite nearby components, raising the risk of an engine compartment fire. The second recall applies specifically to the 430i convertible: the cylinder head cover can develop cracks that allow oil to drip onto hot engine or exhaust surfaces, where it can ignite.
