What can fail
The plastic bushing connecting the cruise control or throttle cable to the throttle lever can break, allowing the cable housing to separate. If this happens, the housing may catch on the broken bushing when you press the throttle, leaving the throttle valve partially open so the car won't slow down as expected.
What the fix does
A spring clip will be installed on the outer tube of each cable to prevent the housing from coming loose from the bushing.
