The 2020 BMW 745LE has 3 recalls, the most serious involving a software condition that can cut braking assist during engine start, requiring noticeably more pedal force to slow the vehicle.
The remaining two recalls both affect rear visibility when reversing. In one, the backup camera can fail to display any image at all, leaving the driver with no camera view of what is behind the vehicle. The other involves a software issue where the rearview camera image may be missing or show a reduced field of view while backing up. Prior repair attempts for these camera issues did not fully resolve the problem across all affected vehicles, which is why separate campaigns exist. In either case, a driver relying on the camera screen rather than mirrors alone may not see a pedestrian, cyclist, or obstacle behind the car.
