The 2008 BMW F650GS has 4 recalls, the most serious being front brake disc fasteners that may not have been tightened properly, which can allow the brake disc to loosen and reduce braking performance. Both remaining recalls involve the drive chain and sprocket. In the more serious of the two, the drive chain can snap and become trapped between the rear wheel and the frame, causing the rear wheel to lock up suddenly. The sprocket fasteners can also back out over time, which cuts drive power to the rear wheel and raises the risk of a crash depending on traffic and road conditions at the time.
