The 2024 BMW X6 has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the integrated brake system, which can lose power assist and cause longer stopping distances, while the anti-lock brakes and stability control may also stop working, raising the risk of losing control.
The remaining recalls all involve knee airbags. Both the driver and passenger knee airbags may not have been manufactured or stitched correctly, which can prevent them from deploying or inflating properly in a crash. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve this issue, and multiple filings cover the same underlying defect across slightly different vehicle populations. In practical terms, if the knee airbags fail to deploy as intended, occupants may face a higher risk of leg and lower-body injury in a frontal collision.
