The 2023 BMW X7 has 7 recalls, the most serious being multiple brake system issues where the power brake assist can fail, extending stopping distances, and the ABS and stability control systems can malfunction, causing loss of vehicle control.
Two separate fire risks also affect this vehicle. On certain X7 xDrive40i models, the windshield may not be properly bonded to the body, allowing water to reach electrical components and cause a short circuit. On X7 M60i models, loose fasteners between the exhaust system and catalytic converter can allow heat or exhaust gases to escape and ignite nearby materials. On the exterior lighting side, one of the two front parking lights can go dark under certain operating conditions, reducing how visible the vehicle is to other drivers at night. There is also a sunroof concern: the sunroof can close on its own without the key fob inside the vehicle, raising the risk of injury to anyone in the opening.
