The 2023 BMW X7 has 5 recalls, the most serious being two separate fire risks: a loose exhaust-to-catalytic converter connection on M60i trims, and a windshield that may not be properly bonded, allowing water to reach electrical components and cause a short circuit. On the safety equipment side, the front passenger knee airbag may not deploy correctly in a crash, which applies across several X7 configurations. There is also a lighting concern: under certain operating conditions, one of the two front parking lights can go dark, reducing how visible the vehicle is to other drivers at night or in low light. A fifth recall covers the sunroof, which can close on its own without the key fob inside the vehicle, raising the risk of injury to anyone in the opening.
