The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox has 6 recalls, the most serious involving 21-inch Continental all-season tires on EV models where the tread can partially or fully detach from the tire at speed, raising the risk of a crash.
Two recalls affect the EV model's pedestrian alert system. The external speaker may not produce sound at adequate volume when the vehicle is moving at low speeds, and separately, the volume does not increase enough between a stopped and moving state, meaning nearby pedestrians may not hear the vehicle approaching in either scenario. On all-wheel drive EV trims, a software error in the brake module can cause the adaptive cruise control to fail to apply the brakes when it should, leaving the driver to react without the expected automated assist. Door latches are also a concern on certain vehicles: the door strikers can break, which may allow a door to swing open while driving. There is also a compliance issue affecting some vehicles sold in Canada where the owner's manual is missing from the vehicle entirely, leaving the driver without guidance on safe operation.
