The 2007 Chrysler Sebring has 7 recalls, the most serious involving rear brakes that can lock up without warning due to a software fault in the anti-lock brake system, a hood latch that can break and let the hood fly open while driving, and a fire risk on 2.4L engine models where coolant can reach the radiator fan wiring and cause an electrical short in the engine compartment. The airbag system also has a concern: seat track position sensors that help adjust airbag inflation for smaller or forward-seated occupants can fail, causing the airbag to deploy at full pressure regardless of how close the occupant is to the dash. On the comfort and visibility side, a software fault in the HVAC module can disable the windshield defroster and defogger, leaving the driver with reduced visibility in cold or humid conditions; this recall only affects vehicles equipped with automatic temperature control.
