The airbag recall affects vehicles built between late 2014 and April 2015: the driver-side airbag module may have been assembled in a rotated position, meaning in a crash the bag deploys at an angle rather than straight toward the driver, which can cause injury instead of protecting against it. On the seating side, certain vehicles equipped with L32 seats — standard on the passenger side and optional on the driver side -- have headrests that do not absorb enough energy in a crash, which reduces the protection they offer to the occupant's head and neck. The tire pressure monitoring system on certain LaFerraris manufactured between May 2014 and March 2015 displays the wrong warning message when a tire is punctured: instead of telling the driver not to continue driving, the system shows a message suggesting a reduced speed limit is sufficient, which can lead the driver to keep going on a punctured tire and lose control of the vehicle.
