Two recalls affect occupant protection. The front headrests on certain vehicles with L32 seats may not absorb enough energy in a crash, raising the risk of head and neck injury. A separate issue affects the driver's airbag module, which may have been assembled in a rotated position and can deploy incorrectly in a crash, also raising the risk of injury. On the electronics side, the tire pressure monitoring system can display the wrong warning message when a tire is punctured, telling the driver to limit speed to 50 mph rather than to stop driving, which can lead to continued driving on a flat tire and loss of vehicle control.
