The 1990 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Classic (FLHTC) has 2 recalls, the most serious involving the cruise control system, which can take in water and cause the motorcycle to accelerate on its own without driver input.
Water contamination in the cruise control system can trigger an unintended speed increase while riding, though the standard methods of disengaging cruise control can bring the throttle back under manual command. There is also an electrical concern: the 30-amp circuit breaker can fail during operation, causing a temporary loss of power to the lights, ignition, and accessories.
