The 2019 Harley-Davidson FLHCS has 2 recalls, both involving the rear shock absorber assembly, where a failure can allow a component to contact and damage the rear tire, causing a sudden loss of tire pressure and potential loss of control.

In both cases, the failure point is on the rear shock absorber: either a securing fastener or a mounting tab on the pre-load adjuster can break, letting the adjuster shift into contact with the rear tire. A tire that loses pressure suddenly on a motorcycle can make the bike difficult or impossible to control, raising the risk of a crash.
