The 2007 Honda CR-V has 14 recalls, the most serious being Takata airbag inflators on both the driver and passenger sides that can explode and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.
The rear frame is also a significant concern: rust can develop on the rear frame and cause a trailing arm to separate from the vehicle, leading to sudden loss of control. Prior inspection and repair attempts under an earlier recall did not fully resolve this issue, so vehicles that were already serviced still require a follow-up inspection and repair.
The remaining recalls all relate to the passenger frontal airbag and stem from repair work done during earlier recall campaigns. In some cases, an incorrect wiring harness was installed during a previous inflator replacement, which can prevent the airbag from deploying properly in a crash. In other cases, the replacement inflator itself may have been installed incorrectly at a dealership, again leaving the passenger airbag unable to deploy as intended. These repair-quality issues affect vehicles that have already been through at least one airbag recall service, and each requires its own follow-up inspection.
