2002 INDIAN SCOUT Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2002 Indian Scout has two recalls, both involving fuel system defects that can allow gasoline to escape and create a fire risk. In the first issue, the gas tank vent tube can become clogged with debris, which can either starve the engine of fuel and cause it to stall, or build pressure inside the tank that pushes fuel past the filler cap seal. In the second, the fuel tank can develop cracks at the welds where a mounting bracket meets the tank, allowing fuel to leak out. In either case, fuel near a heat or ignition source raises the risk of fire.
