The 2012 Isuzu NQR has 4 recalls, the most serious involving the left rear wheel hub, where loose locking bolts can allow the wheel assembly to shift outward from the axle, reducing braking performance and affecting vehicle control.
On gasoline-engine models, a software calibration error in the engine control module can cause cruise control to stay engaged even when the driver presses the brake pedal, provided the brake pedal switch has already failed. In normal operation the brake pedal cancels cruise control automatically, but if the switch malfunctions first, pressing the brake will not disengage it, leaving the truck holding its set speed. There are also two recalls covering the onboard fire extinguisher, which can fail to function properly when needed, reducing the ability to suppress a fire on the vehicle.
