The 2016 Isuzu NQR has 5 recalls, the most serious involving two chassis issues: a rear wheel hub that can shift outward from the axle and reduce braking control, and rear suspension U-bolts that can loosen and allow the axle to shift out of alignment, potentially causing the driveshaft to separate and the vehicle to stall.
On the structural side, metal burrs left on the transmission crossmember during manufacturing can crack the mounting studs over time, leaving the transmission unsupported and preventing it from shifting properly. There is also a safety equipment concern: the onboard fire extinguisher may fail to discharge correctly during a fire. Finally, certain trucks built in mid-2015 with 5.2L diesel engines carry tire and rim information labels printed in a format that may be difficult to read, which can lead to overloaded cargo or underinflated tires.
