The 2019 Isuzu NQR has 5 recalls, the most serious involving rear outer wheel lug nuts that can loosen and allow a wheel to separate from the vehicle while driving.
Closely related, the rear axle U-bolt nuts may also loosen, causing the axle to shift out of alignment. When this happens, the driveshaft can separate, cutting power to the rear wheels and stalling the truck. On vehicles that were modified to add dual steering, a keystock in the steering cross shaft can dislodge and cause sudden loss of steering on the right side. Both the wheel separation and dual steering issues carry a high crash risk. On the instrumentation side, the odometer display shows the correct distance traveled but labels the units incorrectly, which could delay mileage-based maintenance over time.
