The 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee has 3 recalls, the most serious being a high-voltage battery defect on 4Xe plug-in hybrid models where the battery can fail internally and catch fire while the vehicle is parked or being driven.
The 4Xe models also have a second powertrain concern: a software error in the hybrid control processor can cut drive power unexpectedly, raising the risk of a crash. On the safety equipment side, a separate software error in the occupant restraint controller can delay side airbag deployment in a crash, reducing the protection those airbags are designed to provide. All three recalls apply only to plug-in hybrid or 4Xe configurations, so standard non-hybrid Grand Cherokees are not affected.
