2020 Kawasaki Ninja H2 Sx

The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX has 4 recalls, the most serious involving defects that can cause the engine to seize or stall without warning, raising the risk of a crash.

Two recalls center on engine failure. In one, the oil pressure relief valve may have been assembled incorrectly, which can starve the engine of adequate oil pressure. The oil pressure warning light may come on, but if riding continues, the engine can fail outright. A separate recall covers a condition where the engine can stall while underway, again with the potential for a sudden loss of power mid-ride. On the transmission side, the engine's control software cannot suppress high engine speed when a gear misengages, which can damage the gears, prevent shifting, and cause the engine to lock up. The remaining recall involves the rear wheel hub, where a needle bearing may not have received enough grease during assembly. A dry bearing can seize over time, and if it fails completely, the rear wheel can lock up, which on a motorcycle at speed leaves very little room for recovery.
