The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX has 4 recalls, all rated at the same severity level, with the most serious being an oil pressure relief valve that can fail to build adequate pressure, starving the engine of lubrication and causing sudden engine failure while riding.
Three other issues share the same crash risk. A rear hub needle-bearing can run dry of grease, seize, and lock up the rear wheel without warning. On the electrical side, a software gap in the engine control unit means that if a gear misengages, the engine can rev uncontrolled during shifting, damaging the transmission and potentially locking the engine. There is also a separate engine stall risk that can cut power while the motorcycle is in motion.
