The airbag inflator issue is the subject of multiple filings covering the same defect, including campaigns targeting vehicles registered in high-humidity states and territories where the risk is elevated. In each case, the inflator can rupture with force, scattering sharp metal fragments toward the front passenger. On the engine side, bolts securing the variable valve timing gear housing can come loose, allowing the housing and sprocket to separate and causing the engine to stall without warning while driving. A stall at speed can leave the driver without power steering or braking assist, raising the risk of a crash. There is also a fuel system concern: the diaphragm inside the fuel pulsation damper, a component in the high-pressure fuel line, can harden and crack over time, allowing raw fuel to leak near engine heat and potential ignition sources.
